Theme: Second Language Acquisition
Sub-themes: Bilingualism, Multilingualism, Child SLA, Classroom cognitive approaches, lexicon/vocabulary, morphology, oral discourse, phonology/phonetics, pragmatics, reading, research methodology, sociocultural approaches, sociolinguistic approaches, syntax, CALL, testing, written discourse, UG, others.
Proposals for papers and colloquia presenting data and theory in areas of basic research in Second Language Acquisition are invited. All presentations will be in English. Presentations will take two forms: INDIVIDUAL PAPERS & DISSERTATION WORK-IN-PROGRESS. Individual presenters will be allotted to 30 minutes (20 minutes presentation plus 10 minutes for discussion). Experts in relevant field s will be invited to attend the dissertation work-in-progress session and provide comments on the presented projects.
Proposals should include the following information:
1. Title of the presentation (maximum twenty words).
2. 50-word (maximum) single-spaced summary of the paper.
3. 300-word (maximum) single-spaced abstract of the paper.
4. The area of your paper (choose one category only).
Registration:
1. To present a paper at the conference, please submit your abstracts by filling up the online abstract submission form at the official conference website. The DEADLINE for receipt of all submissions for PacSLRF 2008 is Saturday, September 1, 2007. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by October 9, 2007. A refereed proceedings will be published.
2. To attend the conference as a non-speaker, please register at the official conference website. The DEADLINE for registration for PacSLRF 2008 is Saturday, September 1, 2007. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by October 9, 2007.
3. The fees can be paid on-line or via bank transfer. To pay the conference fees, please log in with your username.. If you are paying via bank transfer, please state that it’s the payment for the PacSLRF 2008.
